Siân Baker is a documentary photographer currently in her second year of studying Commercial Photography at Arts University Bournemouth. Based between Essex and Dorset, Siân’s work is profoundly influenced by her desire to explore and highlight societal issues, particularly those affecting marginalised and minority groups.
Her photography seeks to delve into historical events and their lasting impact on communities, offering an intimate, yet powerful look at the way history shapes contemporary life. Whether she is documenting social change, historical narratives, or personal journeys, her work speaks to a broad spectrum of human experiences, bringing attention to those whose stories often go unheard.
With an innate attention to detail and a unique understanding of both the technical and emotional aspects of photography Siân sparks conversations about the past, present, and future. Having recently received her first accreditation as retoucher in 17:23 magazine, Siân’s evolving portfolio, shows she is steadily carving out a space for herself as a photographer dedicated to capturing the complexities of the human experience.
